Transmission: 5 spd
Ford 4.0 into a 1986 Firebird

so i got a f.i. ford 4.0 outta 1994 ford exploder and was wonderin what you guys thot about it i got a M50d 5 spd to put in it too wit the brainbox an everything. i kno its gonna b apain in the *** but idc im doin it.

You know it's going to be a pain and don't care. That being the case, I'm not sure why it matters what we think about it. Being "different" doesn't really matter to anyone else. It's your car, your time, and your money, so have at it.

94 4.0 is rated at 170hp. Doesnt seem the least bit worth it. Might as well pick up a 93+ f-body 3.4, stick a mild cam in it and swap it right in

Let's suppose the Ford engine is free. Now you're going to open an unimaginably deep can of frustration and expense by trying to stick it into a Firebird.

I just don't see that level of complication being worth the end result. But go against all advice and do it anyway, I want to see the video of it running when it's done.

This already sounds like Kramer on Seinfeld remodelling his apartment into "levels".
