Upper radiator hose/serpentine conversion

What radiator hose do you guys use that fits properly with my carb setup and serpentine conversion? I am using the stock water neck off the LG4/305. I purchased a hose for an '85 but I'm not happy with how it almost lays on top of the alternator.

IIRC, I used the same hose. My upper electric fan mount, however, has a support arm for the hose that I don't recall being present on the mechanical fan shroud.
