From TPI to Carb

Hey all, I am just fed up with all the electronic sensors, and computer always acting up. Changing out all these sensors all the time are a pain. Is there any thread on like converting a 91 Z28 TPI to a carb system? I wanna change it so that i can get rid of all the emissions and EGR stuff and everything. I currently live in Florida, so i dont need any of that. From your personal experiences, Is it easy to wire up the speedo and everything into one of these Z28's?

With the wiring, the trick is to not cut any wires out of the car, just tuck them in the pass fenderwell - the pass side wiring gets removed, driver side stays in place. A few wires from pass side run through the loom at the back of the motor to the driver side - fish those 3-4 wires out and bundle with the rest of the pass side wires and tuck them away - that way you don't cut something needed until you are 100% sure. Heck, my pass side wires are still in the fender after 5+ years - I use one every so often for thjings like manual fan control or foglights or something where I need a wire from inside to outside - no need to make one because I have a bundle of them tucked away!

Re: From TPI to Carb

the REAL trick is to send me the TPI, hanress and computer when you swap to the carb .....on a serious note, swapping to carb isnt hard, but its not as cheap as every makes it out to be, unless you get good deals. buying everything new gets expensive on a carb swap. and i hope you have carb tuning experience. you can just bolt on a carb out of the box and itll run, but it wont run as good as it possible can. and you always have to tinker with carbs since they cant adjust them selves for environmental changes.
