Ok, hey guys hows it goin? Im building a 383 for my third gen camaro and wanted a few peoples opinion/advice. My goal is about 400-450 hp. Ill be running a built 700r4 behind it, with a ford 9inch for the rear. Car does not need to be very tame, its just a toy not a daily driver. It will see some weekend cruises and a fair amount of drag strip time. So I already have my rotating assembly its a SCAT internally balanced assembly with 6in rods.

Im thinking of running some Patriot performance heads, their 220cc Freedom series.

I know the runners are a little big but im not sure about the smaller 195cc runners that are available being large enough. I think especially for the price the 220cc might be what I need.

This engine will be a carbed setup, ive not chosen an intake yet but im leaning twords a performer rpm air gap, ive ran one on a cpl 350s in the past and was pleased.
Im not sold on a cam yet, im thinking a hydrolic roller setup. My biggest question right now is a pretty basic one, I need to order a balancer and flexplate, and I know they need to be neutral balance, but what size balancer diameter would you recomend? I will be running a serpentine setup from an 87 305 firebird if that is of any concern.

Well I will probably have more questions later but for now the balancer is my main one, feel free to recomend anything or critique something. Im not set in stone on anything other then the rotating assembly becasue well thats sitting in a box in my living room lol.. Have a good one. thanks.
