What should i use to replace my 305?
long story short i bought my iroc last year and was told it was a 350 and my heart was broken when i found out it was a 305 well i've decided to overcome that and i plan to swap it out and build one hell of a car! one problem i dont know what engine i want to get, i found some decent deals for crate engines such as 383 strokers pushing 470hp for mid 4k well i was just gonna see if anyone had suggestions about better engines they know of or tried im basically looking for most bang for my buck so if you know of any good crate engines or company's that make great ones please post links, pictures, videos, or your own knowledge

Check over in the aftermarket review section. I believe there are a few threads about some decent companies there.
Since you have a '90 I'm assuming you have the fuel injection TPI.
If you switch to a carb motor you'll need some additional stuff. You'll need to wire the fuel pump to run when the key is on. You'll also need a return bypass style regulator. The reason is the Fuel injection pump is designed to push 40+ psi to the injectors and a carb should only need 6-8 psi. Without a proper regulator you'll flood and blow out seals in the carb, overheat the fuel pump, and etc. A Mallory 4309 regulator (I think that's the right number) is the one I used.
If you're planning on using your TPI you'll need to do some work to make it flow better. Dyno Don and others have had very good numbers out of TPI, but they are very restrictive in the stock form. They aren't even close to being port matched between the upper, runners, and lower intake.
Take into consideration exhaust too. Sure the motor will make 470 hp when they dyno it with there open headers or whatever, but it's not going to make that with our factory manifolds. I believe one of the manifolds forces exhaust down to around a 2.25" size (for all 4 ports).
