383

alrite iv built a 383 it has the eagle 3.75 stroke crank 6 inch rods and a set of kb icon forged pistons, the cam is a edelbrock 2201 Duration 296/300, Lift .539/.548. it has a proform gear drive and a set of world products sportsman II heads with the 200cc runners and 64cc chambers so itll put my compression around 10.7-1 and my real question is, is the cam i put in the motor gonna get all the power it can outta the setup i have thanks in advance

Re: 383

234/238 @50 duration of that cam is ballpark with what most are running in good 383's
with 195/ 200 heads.

Depending what the heads flow you might use some more lift (1.6 rockers )
Comp 08-467-8 cam is a popular 383 cam
230/ 236 but with 570 /576 lift

Re: 383

Re: 383

dont need to change anything else. the 1.6 rockers give you roughly a .03 boost in lift over 1.5 rockers. you just need to double check that your heads can handle that extra lift without contact issues. and the check that the springs can handle the lift before coil bind.
