So its probably on here a million times on how to decode the engine code. i have looked on a million sites at a million diagrams but to no prevail. The code is V0818XHK. what i think i know is that it was built in flint on aug. 18 but the suffix I cant find any where. The motor was swapped in to a 88 camaro iroc but it was not done by me i belive it is in the LT family and it has a red intake like the lt4 and i guess the LT 350 camaro motor has the alternator on the pass side like mine.

Does the waterpump and distributor look like this?
If so it is a LTX engine ;
if it has alum heads most likely from a F-Body.( corvette engine codes start with Z )
Cast iron heads from a Caprice or Impala
