Found this and I figure it would be a good deal. I've been parts hunting around for my car and I keep running into these decent deals the other day I ran into a Corvette 350 for $400.

I figure after I take care of the safety stuff in my car instead of dealing with the 305, if SBC are this cheap it's not worth it to even do anything. Then I found this 427. I've read up on it and knowing that it's going to be .400 taller and that it's going to be a tough fit.

Question is: Is there a difference between a 427 everyone knows and the Goodwrench 427? And can I use the TPI from my 305 on the 427? I really don't want to do carb and prefer fuel injection so if a TPI 427 has been done I wanted to know if it ended up detuning or benefiting the car. I could go Vortec but I figure the swap for that is expensive.

I'm simply juggling options here and I know this 427 will be around since it's been up on CL for a month so before I setup a map on what I'm doing I want to know what I could do with this engine. It looks pretty beat up but it could simply be a ton of grime and dirt.

That's a big block engine. So, no, your TPI won't fit on it.

If it's a tall deck truck 427, your problems multiply.

Bird, the MkIV 427 (1965/66) is a totaly different animal than the "Goodwrench 427" which is a LS based, late model(2005-pesent) engine.
Those parts are not interchangeable. No, you can not use a small-block TPI unit on a big-block, neither standard deck or tall. There's is more involved in installing a BBC than a SBC and is further complex when usng a tall deck, I know because I've done/doing both. If you really want to get in to it, I can help.
