Carbed vortec swap parts list
Hey my old 305 is sounding really bad lately so im conidering swapping for 350.
What do I need to buy to carb a vortec in my originally lg4 car? Or is it the same as a regular sbc swap, because its carbureted not fuel injected. And do I need to buy anything to make the carb go onto the vortec intake?

Re: Carbed vortec swap parts list
Edelbrock sells a few different carb intakes for the vortec heads- Performer (2116), Performer RPM (7116) , RPM airgap (7516) and Super Victor (2913). if you are going to use the stock carb, then you need the Performer 2116. if not, choose one of the other ones and know that you probably won't be able to shut your stock hood. if emissions legality is something you need to worry about, then you need the vortec intake from GM that has the mount for the egr valve and you will need to rig up a tube to get the exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold/header to the egr port.
-edit- just looked on the Summit site, and i cant' find the GM egr intake any more..
along with the intake, you need the vortec specific intake gaskets and mounting bolts.
other than that and the need to run the vortec water pump due to the way it runs the coolant bypass to the front of the intake instead of in the block, it drops right in place of your stock engine and everything hooks up the same.
