I have a 84 trans am with a 305. I'm putting in a newer 350 out of a suburban. It has a single piece rear main seal. From what i understand, I need to buy a new flexplate from a 86 and up v8. Will everything else bolt up? I know the bellhousing will but will the torque converter? I plan on using the 350 starter unless i can use the 305 one. Would this flexplate work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM-CHEVY-305...8f35d0&vxp=mtr
Thanks for the help everyone

That's one nasty looking part. Might be okay, but a new one won't cost that much more http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...Term=flexplateOriginally Posted by warmachine

The original one from/for your car should work if the new flexplate is 153-tooth.
