I know there are a million posts on this but seems like most of what I see are dealing with the wiring under the hood.

My Deal if you can help I thank you.
I pulled the 305tpi and built a 350 carb
Im using the original pump in the tank and have it
plumbed in with a holley regulator but I need to
figure out what the wires are for behind the rear seat
for the fuel pump and how to wire it so it works and my
guage will work.

I have 3 wires. 1) tan and only tan no white stripe
2)pinkish red
3)black We all know its ground.

those links about the tan/white are wrong for
my application because thats not my color.

ok so we know the pink is the guage
the tan with white stripe is correct
But it is not correct for my car.
I have an actual 1986 camaro service manual
the 120 circuit shows in the book as Tan/White and
its the electric fuel pump fused feed
then shows (TAN ONLY FOR F.B.)
Mine is tan only! so what is F.B.?

Go by gauge then. The fuel pump 12v is 16ga while the fuel level wire is 18ga

If both look similar, use a meter to trace them

 

It is a process of elimination.
If you have only 2 wires going to the tank and KNOW for sure that one is not the one you want then what does it mean the
other wire is ????????? ( regardless of the actual color )
