carb to TPI swap
i posted a similar post in the TPI forum with no luck. I have two trans ams and i am trying to make one. My t-top 87 was originaly a LG4 car, has rotted floors and subframe but a good carbed 727 block 350 with 193 heads. My hardtop 87 was originally a 305 tpi car. The hard top is complete minus some harnesses. My plan is to swap in the 350 and make it TPI because im tired of messing with carbs and would rather keep all the tpi set up in the hardtop. I am planning to pull all of the harnesses from the 87 lg4. Wiring wise what all do i need to get specific to run the TPI and what can i possibly reuse from the LG4 car.

You need everything that goes to the engine from a TPI car, best if it's '87. '85-'86 were different, and '88-'89 were different, '90-'92 were a different TPI system (could argue that '89 was a different system as well). The others could be made to work, but if everything in the '87 is original, it is a unique setup.
You will be able to use everything from the LG4 car that doesn't go to the engine/trans.

Re: carb to TPI swap
What about the actual manifold sensors, runners. I'm looking at a tpi manifold plenum, injectors, fuel rail, and sensors off an 88 iroc would that work or should I look for an 87

The TPI stuff itself is the same '87-'88 as far as intake and injectors and sensors and harness. The main thing is the alternator and AC switched sides between '87 & '88 with the advent of the serpentine system.
