Has anyone bought the used TPI motors from hawksthirdgenparts?
If so was it a good buy?
I know motor to motor varies from them by past usage but in a all in all buy type deal was it a good buy?
im thinking about buying one from them.

you are a little far away from hawks, there is no "salvage yards" by you with a tpi?i think you would be better off finding a 5.3L or 6.0L in instead there should be plenty of those around and have more power a little more work though but better off.

yeah theres hardly any f-bodies down here in san antonio, just went to pick n pull today there was only like 4 3rd gen f-bodies that were destroyed and v6's. Saw an LT1 in a 94 Formula though and considered it, they wanted 550$ for it.

Stored for 20 years with the intake open, spark plugs out and exhaust ports exposed.... the fluids were probably drained and if not they are varnish now. I can only imagine the rust hiding inside those cylinders if it isn't locked up completely. Same goes for the trans and rear end. Either way all the gaskets and seals are gonna have to be replaced because their either shrunken and dry rotted or eaten away by varnish.
