please help very frustated fuel pump wire 86 iroc
So i have searched and searched and all i can find is people sayin put 12 volts hot in Run to the green and white wire at the fuel pump relay. Well my car was pretty much gutted when i bought it the guy was doing a 350 carb swap and got in over his head so i bought it and built my iwn motor now im at the point where all i need is fuel to my carb and the relay and green and white wire are gone. He removed them so now im trying to find out where the fuel pump wire is under the dash so i can get power to it so heres my question. On a 86 iroc where is the fuel pump wire that needs 12v located under the dash? Does it connect to the c100 or any other connector there if so please help me find it. Also this is my first post and want to thank you for all the other info that ive found very helpful on here.

If the previous owner removed the fuel injection ( and wiring for it ) then there is no electric fuel pump wire for you to find.
Here is a schematic of the 85 fuse-box.... your 86 should be very similar.

At the very bottom left you can see an empty terminal port marked IGN. You can simply plug a terminal/wire into this spot to get power for your fuel pump when the ignition is turned to RUN.

While running a hot to the pump will work, the relay is a safety device in case of a fuel leak. Say a burst rubber line, accident that causes a leak. When the engine quits running and the pump stops. I would wire this with a relay and the oil pressure switch it was designed to have. You shouldn't need the pre-run prime with a carbed engine, bowls will hold enough fuel to start and raise the oil pressure enough to kick the pump in. Here is a schematic for the fuel system. Green/white wire is from the ECM harness coming from the passenger side fender.

And almost all of the diagrams for the 86 model. Sounds like you may need it. The most complete for Camaros I've found and fortunate it's for my year.

hey shawn,
on my 87 IROC the wire that went from the relay under the hood to the fuel pump in the tank ran through the C207 connector under the passenger side dash. It was PIN D, a brown wire. might be different on yours. I tested it by applying +12V to that wire and waited to hear the pump in the tank turn on.
Im not sure if that is how all thirdgens are set up, but IIRC most factory fuel injected cars run this way.
As far as running a relay, i would imagine the +12V to turn on the relay comes from the C100 looks like G4 on my notes.
So long story short- power runs out C100 to relay, then 12V runs through C207 to pump in tank.
Also- the Chiltons manual has some great, though complicated, wiring diagrams for our cars, its worth picking up.
