Best model years for Pontiac 350/400

What model years would be easiest to do a Pontiac v8 swap? I was told 82-84 but I wanted a second opinion.

A carbed model (82-87) should be a little better, as the wiring harness is more simple. But you will have to modify/remove so much stuff I don't think it matters that much in the end.
