LS1/T56 VALUE
I have been looking around and wanting to do this swap for a while. Just wanting to get some opinions on a price. I found some one relatively local selling a LS1/T56 pullout complete with harness, computer and accessories for 3k. It has about 140K miles on it. The mileage is a bit higher than I would like but if it's a good deal I'm willing to do some work to go through the engine. It's supposed to run good and is still in the car so I can hear it run. It's from a 2000 Z28 that the drivers side is wrecked. Just not sure if it's worth the 3k price with the mileage so I figured I would get some opinions from others.

Re: LS1/T56 VALUE
I would want to hear it run from dead cold. I purchased one with the typically stated 80k miles and it knocked while cold due to piston slap. Ran great but it always bothered me.
$3k is the going price around here for a ls1/t56 pullout with all the accoutrements.

On ebay they are asking 4500-5000 for a ls1/t56. granted there is only70k on them... the only one i saw for 3500 said it needed work.. I haven't been looking long but from what ive seen 3k isnt bad... I would want to do a complete tear down tho sense the motor is out and all that... why not right??

Re: LS1/T56 VALUE
So talked to the guy today and he said he would include tank and everything that I would need to make the swap for 2500 so that would include the lines up to the tee. The only thing that he doesn't have is the manifolds since the car had headers on it. I will be going to look at it next weekend when I get back from this work trip and probably grab this up.

Just keep an eye out.... I just bought a 98 Z28 running/driving/tagged and inspected car for $4k. even had a fast intake, cam and exhaust.... Just keep your eyes open and don't be afraid to haggle.
