Stock 305 to Vortec 383 swap

I just recently bought a 92 Camaro with a 305 and I have a vortec 350 out of a 97 or 98 truck and I plan on making it a 383. I don't know whether to carb it or try to use the cars stock EFI. The car won't be a daily driver, I'll probably take it to the strip every now and then but nothing serious. Any suggestions?

My opinion, if you are not going to put it on the street, reap all the benefits of having the 383 that you can. Build it to the max, mine is going to have to endure stop and go traffic, ect... so I need to build accordingly. That should be your idea, build accordingly. Home garage BEAST for the strip. Screw pump gas. Screw 700r4. Build a wild man's dream. IMHO. We should be able to hear Tim Allen's grunt for at least 150 miles.

With that being said, CARB IT

Well I also would like to be able drive it around on weekends and I'm on a little bit of a budget (I'd like to keep it around $3000)

There are several builds throughout these threads that can direct you. Another thought would be if you could afford 3k at once, buy a good 5.3 out of a junkyard with harness, ecm and all.
