Car: 1989 Camaro RS Vert
Engine: 350 Block, 305 head TBI
What engine is in my RS? VIN doesn't match.
Bought a stock 305 89 RS convertible (or I thought at least) almost a year ago to fix up as a learning hobby. Fixed a lot of things but still struggling with a surging high idle and occasional backfire when cold. Hours and hours of surfing thirdgen.org and other sites, I read a thread about someone's issues after a 305 to 350 swap and they seemed very similar to mine so I looked for the engine markings. I could only uncover the passenger side info on the front of the engine.
K0927TBM and CK7716808 (the "716" is very hard to see so it could be off)
On the passenger underside side of the block, I see on the front and back "350"
My research indicated that I might have a c20 block in there from late 70s or 82.
I can't seem to find the stamp on the drivers side, just too much in the way.
Everything appeared to be the stock 305 TBI. Been replacing parts left and right for a 1989 camaro RS 305 5.0 vin "E" L03.
Can anyone second that info because that could explain my never ending battle to get this running good.
Help!
Thanks
