1990 camaro t5 v8 TBI to LS engine swap questions
Hey guys. I have an 1989 Camaro. I had no harness when i got the car, so i grabbed a full interior harness out of a 1990 Camaro t5 v8 TBI.
Im using a PSI harness for the engine swap (l76 with ls3 top end and a T56 6 speed trans out of a 02 camaro ). So im covered as for engine connectors. However, i have no engine harness for my car's c100. My PSI harness covers the reverse lockout and VSS sensors, but doesn't cover the reverse lights, so i bought a pigtail
In my harness, i have this plug by the radio and a/c wiring that looks like a neutral safety switch on an automatic. Can i cut the blue and green wires off this plug to make reverse lights work?
Or, is it easier to connect the reverse light pigtail to the c100 engine harness.
My last question is... I have to be year specific right? I compared c100 pinouts for a 1990 and 1992 on Austin third gen and they are slightly different. So i need 1990 camaro harness. Do i HAVE to have a v8 harness to match the v8 interior harness? Can i get a v6 t5 harness? Or Can i get by with an auto harness from a 1990 and just hook the reverse lights to the plug by the a/c radio controls?

That connector is for the auto PRND, you have an auto harness. The blue and green are for the reverse lights, I cut mine off that connector and pulled them back out of the loom and put new terminals for the C100 on the inside of the car, then when I made my engine harness I had the male terminals for the engine side of the C100, so my reverse lights work like factory on my T56

No, I literally took the harness out of a stock t5 car. It is t5 confirmed. The purple and yellow wires run to the clutch safety switch
