Can i swap a ford engine into a camaro
I recently bought an 87 camaro as a project and i was wondering if anyone has ever heard of someone swapping an f150 engine into a camaro. I have a 93 f150 that hasnt moved in a while but i know it runs and i was thinking about trying to swap it into my camaro. Its a 5L so it should fit but i wanted to use the camaro drivetrain. Is this even possible?

You'll need a transmission to go with it, custom motor mounts, custom driveshaft, custom exhaust, custom fuel line, custom radiator, and maybe a custom transmission crossmember. Even more complicated if you plan on emissions legal...

If I remember correctly from talking to Ford guys, a Mustang T5 could be put behind a 302 from a truck. I believe the mustang T5 has a different length tail-housing and maybe the output shaft splines are different. You could also try putting a C6/FMX/Np435. . .etc behind it. Each one would of course come with it's own issues and you would need a custom driveshaft. You would most likely need to make a new trans cross-member or modify the stock one. Then you will need custom motor mounts, and the truck oil pan may need modification to fit. The intake on those is also pretty tall, so that might be a consideration. You could try to get the EFI to work, or you could swap to a carb/ aftermarket distributor. Either option would require a lot of wiring. Then you need a new exhaust. Probably going to be a bit of a process as you need to make headers or find some Ford headers that will fit in the car.
Possible, yes, but it will probably be cheaper and easier in the end to just buy a 305/350 to put in the car.
