Hi guys, Gotta quick question here, I have an '85 Iroc coupe that a buddy of mine gave to me, but before I recieved it, he pulled the engine & tranny out of it, otherwise, the car is complete. I know that the car was originally equipped with the 305 compu-carb engine. My question is, I am converting the car to a 350 TPI engine, and want to know if the car originally had an in tank fuel pump, and if not, since '85 was the first year of TPI, would it have been pre-wired from the factory for the in tank pump?? Any & all help is greatly appreciated!!!!

There are varying observations about a carb'd in-tank electric pump. Apparently, the '87's all had them, but other years probably did not. There has been some discussion of an "anti-vapor lock kit" that the dealer could install that had the in-tank pump and a little fan to blow cool air on the carb when the engine was shut off and hot. My '86 donor car had the blower but not the in-tank pump.

At best, you may have slots in the fuse panel for the pump relays. I wouldn't count on anything else, though.

Try to get all that stuff when you get the TPI setup.
