Casting Numbers
I just bought a 305 and i was wondering if anyone on here has one of those casting identification books.Write back if ya do!

Casting numbers alone don't tell you very much. A casting could have been used in different vehicles over a number of years.
What you need is the suffix and date codes from the block. They'll be stamped on the pad in front of the passenger side head. Those codes will tell you more about a block than casting number will.
