ok, i have decided to put an LS1 engine in my car. I have some questions.
1) could i use my accessories like power steering, alternator,airconditioner, ect?
2) Does anyone know of a place in eastern PA that would do a motor swap for me, or do u think that a performance shop would do the swap if i payed them for labor?
3)how much hp does an LS1 have
4) could i beat a 95 corvettew/ 4 speed?
5) if i got a posi differential, 3.73 gears, 4L60E(i think thats it) and a new stall converter, would that be strong enought to support the engine

Most of the LS1 engines I've seen for sale come complete with the accessories on them, so just buy one that has it all connected. Remember also that you need all of the sensors and computer.

Depends on the year. Between 320 for the z28 and 350hp for the vette. However, they can vary as there are Z28s and SSs dynoing at over 300 to the rear wheels. There's a post in the street racing board on this.


Depends on how good each driver is really. You should beat him if you can drive well.


Well the LS1 is mated to the 4L60E from the factory so it is strong enough for the motor. Also, if you are going with an auto I'm 99% sure you'll also require the 4L60E.

Thanks, i am probably just going to get an engine and tranny combo off of ebay that comes with all accessories and everything, It just seems cheaper that way. Also, i think that i am going to go to my local performance shop and pay them 1000 to do the swap for me, maby even 2 if they wnat it, but i will offer 1, thanks for your help
