For all you guys running 383's.Where did you get yours.I'm interested in the choices,and would you recommend the place.

 

Get the GM 383 crate motor, it has a 4.0" bore and a 3.8" stroke, it makes a lot of torque.

 

Build your own if you can. G.M.'s is a good choice is you need to buy one complete.

 

My friend says his dad would help build the motor,but I don't want to impose. I wanted to keep the budget to $3000.00,but now have decided on $4000.00 if it's a must.I also need to do trans, which I figured at 500.00 parts only,and pray the original diff will hold up a couple months for funds replenisment..

How much is the GM motor,and which one,I only saw a truck 383.

I got my short block 383 from http://www.speedomotive.com/ , I also haven'y had any trouble with it. My only complaint was the wait.

 

I was thinking about buying from them...Do you have emissions testing where you live,and if so,did it pass?

No I do not have emissions testing. I doubt I'd pass either, I'm far from stock and have no emissions left on the car. None.
