V6 ToV8 fuel line location?

I am helping a friend put a 350 into his 91 camaro. It was originally a v6 car. I am thinking of bending the gas lines to go over to the other side of the engine bay, on the underside of the car above the transmission? I really don't want a fuel line running on the crossmember of his car, seems dangerous. What have you guys done? by the way he is using a stock mech pump.

Has he removed the electric pump in the tank?
If not buy a 3 way regulator ( with return line).
Hook it up to your existing fuel lines and run it across
from the drivers side like TPI.

If he has removed the pump from the tank.
Find a donor car that has the TBI lines on the
right side remove them and put them on the 91.
I think the holes are predrilled on the rightside for
the clips that hold the fuel lines, not sure though.

Car: 89rs (previous 2.8)
Engine: 406
Transmission: 700r4 (for now)
Some have run a metal fuel line accross on the x-member with no problem...5-seven kid being one, you might ask him how it works for him

He has already removed the pump from the tank. The TBI lines run alongside the drivers side. I had heard that the carb gas lines cross over the transmission tunnel to the passenger frame rail. thanks

That is correct. Works fine. Ran the return line across there as well. Found some tie wrap mounts that use a drilled 1/4" hole to support the lines there.

That is also correct. I preferred the crossmember route for two reasons: 1) The V8 carb cars have a clamp stud at the top of the tunnel that V6 cars don't have, and 2) I figured the fuel would stay cooler running in front of the crossmember than it would over the top of the transmission, which is behind the engine (gets hot up there).

Oh, one other reason I did it that way - it was easier. I have the V8 line from the donor car up in the garage attic still.
