turning my 89GTA 350tpi to 355 carbed
hi, right now my engine is striped down to the bare block sitting on an engine stand. right now im pondering what to do next. obviously the standard procedures (hot tank, magnaflux and all that crap) first, but what do i do next? im on a tight budget (like most of us probly) so i gota rebuild this as cheaply as possible. im thinking about just grabin a carb intake and manifold off some trashed F-body and replaceing my TPI with that. dont bother asking why, it will take too long to explain. im goin with a carb no matter what. anyways, seeing as how my car originaly relyed on the ecm to do everything, im gona have a lot of other stuff to deal with. if anyone else out there originaly had TPI on their cars and changed over to carb, i would REALLY REALLY apprecate a specific set of instructions on how to get my car functioning properly with a carb. also, has anyone rebuilt their 350's to 355's? im not sure exactly what to do with this problem either. am i gona need a new crank? if not, will the old one have to be re-balenced? all i really need is new pistons and rings right? ive got roller lifters and my cam is still in pretty decent condition, the crank looks good too. thanks in advance

Same deal as swapping from TBI or CC carb. You need carb, manifold, early style HEI ditributor. A 355 is a 350 bored out to 4.030, same crank, rods & .030 oversize pistons.
