It's going to be a sad end to next week, the Camaro goes on Friday night, and I really will be sorry to see it go. However, I'll stick around the boards, and I'll only be sad for about 12 hours, because here's the new baby.

Didn't post a picture as...shock...horror, it's not a thirdgen.

Felix, don't go locking me now!

My new car is........

1. 73/74 year unloved as they got hit by the emmisions and general down tuning. 300 horses from 7.2L is not exactly pushing the boat out. However, nearly 400lb of grunt!

2. Headers and exhaust, that's it. Paint is very dull, interior scruffy, looks like it came off two lane black top, and that's how I'm keeping it.

3. I'll be here. The dodge charger forum is nowhere as well used as this one.

Have you checkd you still have a reflection?

other than the enevitable demonic possesion, nice car. Are you sure you want to keep the paint flat? if its all one colour, just unpolished, (as my car was) it could be the center of a tech article on restoring flat paintwork.

are you bringing it to the pub next friday?

Flat paint on this car is cool, trust me. It has a lovely patina (as in antiques). i.e. Original, worn, used, etc.

I don't intend to sink a shedload of dough into this car, just to make it shine. (e.g. '89 RS Camaro). I almost purposely went out to buy a sound car, big engine, scabby finish. That way, given I know I'd have to spend £3-4k making it look good...I wouldn't. Objective acheived.

The Camaro doesn't go until about 23:00 on Friday, and I'm back up to Chester on Saturday to pick it up.

Cheers,
paul

I didn't spend a fortune making mine shine, just a load of polishing cloth, and about 20 quids worth or cutting compound and polish.

Oh, and about 10 hours of polishing!!

Guys,

I'm really pissed that nobody has picked up my burnout Avatar. Would anyone like to say stuff like "wow!, really fantastic", or "I noticed you've got the peg leg 2:73 and therefore a w@nky one wheel burnout"

If the latter, why the dickens did you think I filmed it from the driven wheel!

Cheers,
paul

Black is beautiful Paul I do love MOPARS..I owned a 74 challenger in 97 for a 6 months..was a little worse for wear & was matt yellow with a flakey vinyl black roof plus a bit of tin worm..but hey it was fun, this was the car with the 'c' missing from the badge hence hallenger..was only a 5 ltr & came with cherry bombs with rotted packing..they were soon replaced with mufflers..wish I had it now, worth more than the £1900 I sold it for.., never mind heres to the black Z28..will you be at the mopar nats at the pod
If I had the money I would have a black 68/69..mmmm:hail:

if money were no object (and g<x>od, and new job willing, in a couple of years it won't be) it would be an 89 Turbo trans am indy pace car for me. only 1500 made, close on 300bhp stock, plus that "exotic" factor........

oh, and 12's with nothing more than a tweak of a screwdriver.

also, until the C5 'vette it was the fastest production GM ever (including the LS1 camaro, but excluding dealer built cars like the COPO and Yenko Camaro's) even they were only just faster.
