should my hooker catback be rusting around the welds??

should my hooker catback be rusting around the welds??

i was putting my new lca's on the other day and noticed that my hooker muffler is starting to rust where the welds are on the muffler.. the system is less then a year old and never is driven in the rain or snow.. should i contact them and ask what gives?? i hate to give hooker a bad name because i love their system but this doesnt seem right to me!!!

Hmm, guess I'll check mine when it stops raining. I'd say call them, wouldn't hurt to ask. You could always get some spray paint or stuff in a spray can that resists run and see if that helps.

I noticed the thing on mine when I took the car out of storage yesterday.

The system was put on in July of last year and the car only goes out in good weather.

I'm just going to paint it and keep an eye on it.

Also, the tips started to rust at the welds after the first week or so when they were new - might just paint them too.

welds are really prone to corrosion (learned that in Materials Engineering 210) , it really has nothing to do with the quality of the cat-back.
