Cat Temperatures...

I'm looking to get a straight answer on how to check a converter since the archives didn't seem to help. I believe the temperature before the cat should be warmer than after the cat, but I'm not certain. Either way, what is the temperature difference I should be looking for? Thanks. - John '89 L98

The temp after the cat should be WARMER than before the cat.

I'd say at least a 25 degree F difference.

Hmm... So the cat is warmer after the cat than before? Are we sure about that? - John '89 L98

yes, since that is how the cat works. a chemical reaction occures which burns the excess polutants and stuff, and the byproduct is heat. which is why there is a heat shield around the cat..
