Bad vibration over 4000 RPMs...exhaust??
When my uncle was checking over my car, he noticed there was a small exhaust rattle at idle. He found it was a baffle that is apparently loose inside my muffler...he said you could bang on the muffler with a screwdriver and just hear something banging around in it.
I took the car out for a quick ride, and I noticed under 4 grand it accelerated nice and smooth, but when I got on the highway and wound it out, over 4 grand the car was vibrating so much that the change in the ashtray was rattling!!! Could this bad baffle or whatever be causing the exhaust to breathe wrong at higher RPMs and cause a problem like this?? I know I need plugs anyways, but its lack of this problem at lower engine speeds got me thinking maybe the exhaust had something to do with it.
Also, does Flowmaster or Dynomax make a muffler that will fit on an OEM exhaust? This exhaust was dealer installed by the previous owner, so I know its stock size. Whether this is my vibration problem or not, I want to put a better muffler on it anyways (rest of exhaust is fine), and wanted to know if one of these will bolt onto a stock-sized midpipe. Thanks to anyone who can help...

The vibration is most definitely the exhaust...it does it when it isn't even in gear, and my uncle said he rapped the muffler with a hammer and he can hear something banging around...
Thanks for the tips on the Flowmaster and Hooker
