exhaust place screwed me
exhaust place screwed me
hey i was wondering weather i might be able to do something,i got my exhaust put on a few weeks ago,my car still isnt done yet,but its close, and i dont want to have any more problems, but anyways,i got my exhaust put on,i had flowtech lt headers, just some cheap ones to get it going, and when i called the shop,i asked if the could bend the 3 in. pipe, and all that, and set up my app. took my car there, and had it done, when i got the car back,it was so loud, header had 3 in collectors, and he cut them back a little, welded them down to like 2.25 inch pipe, back to about the middle of the car, right behind the cross member for the tranny, and had the drivers side run into the side of the passenger side pipe, goes back maybe 4-5 in. and goes into 2.5 in. pipe, back into my flowmaster,im worried bout how much back pressure there is going to be on the drivers side, not to mention i didnt get what i wanted at all,i cant even drop my transmission without dropping the exhaust with it,and i paid 175 dollars for this work,is there anything i might be able to do?i mean isnt that way to much pressure on the drives side pipes?my engine has 10.1 piston, and a few other mods in the engine, its not just some stock 305,what do you guys think?

The 2-1/4" isn't a problem, but both sides running into a single 2-1/2" probably is.
For what you paid, I wouldn't say you got "screwed". For the work you describe, I'm sure I would have paid twice that with the shops I've been limited to here.
Your Flowmaster is 3" inlet, correct? Then you should have no less the 3" after the two sides come together. Get that fixed, and you should be fine.
BTW, Flows are loud. If you don't like that, get a different muffler, because larger pipe will be even louder.
