I doubt you would even feel the difference (if the even is one), put the money toward something worth it

Straight pipes don't sound good IMO, makes your car sound like a speedboat/******* mobile. Plus they don't give you any scavenging effect, so they won't really give you any power.

I'd stay away from them too, get a good exhaust instead.

Transam,
I've got a single straight pipe from the headers (through a gutted cat), and I think it sounds great. I can e-mail you the sound file if you like. (Doesn't sound ******* to me!)

You can always just put on a cut out. Costs about $50 and will make it for you are running straight pipes but you can always cap it and go back to using your full exhaust. It's the best of both worlds

Ok, Thanks for sending me the clip.....

Now for some criticism....

The sound byte is too quiet. You gun the engine too many times. Let it idle then punch it.

The exhaust sounds ok, from what I could tell it doesn't sound very throaty. That's just my opinion on it.

I run dual straight pipes on my car, they dump right after the axle. I like how it sounds, it cackles just a little bit at light throttle, but it is hardly ever at that throttle setting. Some people think that it is too loud, but they all agree that it sounds good.

Do they have 'necks in the UK? Or do they have a different word for it? I'm sure the same sound dosen't have the same image over there, or does it?
