OK heres the deal i have an 88 RS and i have to stock exhaust system on it. I wanted to know what system would give me the sound of an 8cyl. What is the best a Borla cat-back, Flowmaster cat-back, or flowmaster mufflers. Gimme some feedback guys help me out here

 

Sadly your not going to get the real deep tone of an 8 cyl but the best i have heared on a 6 cyl was hedman hedders with true duals meaning no crossover pipe and run your pipes straight back and put two mini turbo thrush mufflers right in the back end with about only a foot of tail pipe on each muffler and it sounded really good almost like an 8 cyl. The key i have found to a deep tone exaust is to use big pipes like a 3" and yes it will fit on a third gen dont let anyone tell you different because i have done it, and the shorter the tailpipe the better the rumble, try it i bet you will like it. you can get all the gear to do it for about 250 bucks through summet racing equipment.

 

Um you feeling okay Red85TA? Cause I think about 80% of the people on this board have 3" pipes. BTW, your not gonna get an 8cyl sound, you know what that means? Pick up a 305 TBI from the junkyard or maybe even something with a little bit more ***** and swap it.

Yes im feeling quite ok slow88rs and if camarovroom want a good sound out of his six cylinder what i told him to do will give him a good sound at a decent price instead of buying one of those expensive catback systems from borla or flowmaster and a hell of alot cheaper than getting another engine from a scrap yard and trying to rebuild it wouldent you say, that just my 2 cents worth.

 

u'd be surprised what u can do with exhaust...me? i took flowmasters 3" intermediate pipe high flow cat and u cant tell its 6 til u hit 5k...howz that? 305 tbi? i can kick their asses with the 'ol v6
