3' cat and catback for under or =2 $400?

Ok, i have about 400$ to send on a cat and a catback, i really want to get the hooker catback setup, but then that leaves me with roughly 150$ for a 3' cat? (is that enough money?) If anyone knows of a website or something that i could order a 3' cat to fit my car the info would be appreicated
Also I'm wondering roughly ABOUT how much HP would a compeletly new exhaust (like the one im buying) give? The only part i have for my exhaust so far is the edlebrock TES with the edlebrock Y pipe that has the 3' outlet.
THX!!

$150 is definately enough for a cat... IRS (www.racenet.net) has 3" Catco cats for $100, Jegs & Summit bother have cats for around $120-$130... right now I'm decided on what cat to get... I've already got the hooker cat back, now I wanna get hooker super comp shorties and a high flow cat

You can get a Hooker cat-back for around $260, and an Edelbrock isn't too much more.

I just got off the phone with a person from jeg's. He told me the hooker catback they sell part #520-16820 is only 2.5" what is this hooker 3" catback's part #? I need a single 3" mandrel-bent cat-back that bolts to the cat (not slip fit) and exits in the stock location (two tailpipes - one on each side) is this guy wrong? someone said the "aerochamber cat-back". Who sells this if this is what I want? Thanks. Also anyone have opinions on the dynomax catback they sell. the ad says it has a 3.14 sq in "flow area" is this same as what we call a 3" exhaust or does 3" mean diameter?

I bought my cat from Summit for only $90 (Read signature). Of course, it is a universal 3", so a little fabrication will be required.

I bought the Catco 3" cat from summit. Bolts to the I-pipe, slip fit on the y-pipe. Straight replacement for the stock cat on my 87Z. I also have the Edelbrock TES headers and the hooker cat-back, everything went together just fine. Had to get the y-pipe welded to the cat though, the slip fit let exhaust leak out.

Not sure if I responded to another post about the size of the Hooker systems, but the Hooker system listed as for 86-92 305 TPIs and single cat 350 TPIs is the 3" I-pipe system. Bolts right to the stock cat and right to the 3" Catco cat (ordered for the same cars, 86-92 305 TPIs and single cat 350s) when I replaced the stock cat.
