Dynomax VS Edelbrock

I was considering an edelbrock catback system but the dynomax is about half the price. Is it true that dynomax will sound almost stock? also are the pipes quality on a dynomax? because i can still save money buying that system and the buying another muffler if i dont like the sound...thanks

I have the Dynomax Super Turbo cat-back that was installed over 4 years ago. I got it for something like $130 from Summit or Jegs back then. It sounded pretty quiet at first, although my old cat-back had a good-size hole in it before the muffler, so it was quite loud. After a month or so, it ended up sounds a lot better and making more noise. I've driven my IROC in rain and snow (up to 12") and the pipes still aren't showing any signs of rust. Another (more-expensive) alternative is Dynomax's Ultra-Flo cat-back that has a stainless-steel muffler instead of aluminized steel. Which ever cat-back you get, give it a month or 2 to "break in" and you'll be happy with the results.

It sounds af if you are interested in a loud system? If so you will be replacing the muffler on the Dynomax system if purchased. it just doesn't cut it in the noise department.

i dont know about the dynomax, but the edelbrock has aluminized pipes and they give a lifetime warranty too. mine sounds great, in fact i just got a ticket for it today...but its not legit, the cop was just pissed cause i was giving him a hard time (because HE was giving ME a hard time first!!) anyway, its loud but not too loud, just right...i wasnt exactly happy w/ it at first but after 10 months its broken in quite nice and i cant help but punch it every time i go under a bridge cause i love the sound
