difference in glasspack and resonator?

what is the difference between a glasspack and a resonator. they look pretty much the same. i know that glasspacks burn out eventualy. and i guess if a resonator is the same thing then it will also.

thanks..

difference is the resonators take away the rapping sound on the down-rev. also resonators dont make your car sound ****ty like glasspacks.

I don't think a resonator is glass packed, nor anything packed. It's just a larger tube/chamber for the sound to die in.

I've even seen some that were actually smaller.

a resonator has nothing in it. its just a piece of pipe that goes in before the exhaust tip to add some tone to it and take out the nasty sounds.
