i posted this in the TECH section, then i realized i would probably get more answers here.

my question is;

i have an 86 camaro, check the sig for the mods. i have the stock cat and intermedaite pipe on there right now. what size is the pipe? would replacing it with something aftermarket be worthwhile. would the sound improve at all? performance?

my cat question is simple. should i replace my stock cat with something aftermarket? i live in california so most the cats out there i cant buy, except the really expensive ones, like 280 bucks from what ive seen. is it worth it to replace the cat, or just leave it like it is. also, how can u tell if your cat is clogged? do i have to remove it and look inside?
