I think I need help
After reading some posts here i have become concerned that i may lose power when i do my exhaust. I know that you're all going to ask me what the motor is but....i don't know. It's got heads and a cam so i'd assume that it's a 350. Anwyay I'm kinda on a budget so I was thinking about getting the 3" Hooker cat-back and the headman 1 5/8's shorty headers and y-pipe. I have a few questions about those.
1. What size is the y-pipe?
2. What cat back do i need from Hooker since I don't have a cat. So i don't really need the slip fit thing do i?
3. Will I lose power from doing all of this or gain some?
4. What would this setup sound like. Keep in mind that there is not cat.
Thanks,
Justin

What do u mean u don't know what engine your car has?? Whats the VIN and RPO's, or is it not a stock engine?? If its not u can find out, but for choosing an exhaust thats going to work good with your car, u have to know what the engine is.

Well the VIN says that it's supposed to be a carbed 305....and it's clearly got TPI. I pulled the valve covers off and It's got World S/R torquers and roller tip rockers. The idle has changed quite a bit so i'm guess that it's got a cam...it's alot more sporatic. And the motor is healthy and doesn't seem to have any vaccuum leaks.
