headers......

will replacing my stock manifolds for headers screw up the emmision controls??

i got an 85 trans am, 305 TPI

no it has air injectors in it. It shoudl be fine passing emmisions since most brands are 50 state emision legal. I am in the middle of changing my manifolds for headers.. It is such a hard job. Took me a little over 10 hours.

Well, you have to slide off the stock exhaust manifolds, and then raise the car up on jackstands and slide the headers in from the bottom. I haven't attempted it yet, and am really nervous about doing it. My friend told me it's not a hard job, just extremely frustrating. If you are a rookie, definently let a mechanic install them for you. Then again, this is just my $.02
