will replacing my stock manifolds for headers screw up the emmision controls??

i got an 85 trans am, 305 TPI

 

no it has air injectors in it. It shoudl be fine passing emmisions since most brands are 50 state emision legal. I am in the middle of changing my manifolds for headers.. It is such a hard job. Took me a little over 10 hours.

TES Headers in the mail, and about to order a stage 2 fastchip.

 

how did you go about putting them in?

 

Well, you have to slide off the stock exhaust manifolds, and then raise the car up on jackstands and slide the headers in from the bottom. I haven't attempted it yet, and am really nervous about doing it. My friend told me it's not a hard job, just extremely frustrating. If you are a rookie, definently let a mechanic install them for you. Then again, this is just my $.02

My SLP headers dropped in from the top. Its not difficult, just time consuming.
