Hooker long tubes and stock oil cooler
I did a search about these headers and found all my answers except this one. Some said that it had to be removed or modified. someone else said they modified theirs but noone mentioned what it was they needed to do to the oil cooler to make it fit. I don't want to lose the oil cooler so I'll have to modify it. Just wondering what it is I'm in for.

hey mark, long time no see...
i think your going to have to loose it with those headers... my filter set right against my hedman longtubes so i went ahead and got rid of it.....
to be truthful it wasn't a good design by gm and really dosen't do much if ya ask me... just rmove it and splice the coolant lines together where they go to the metal ones on the passenger side...

I know of one guy who modified it to make it work. I don't remember what he did. Maybe he'll reply ... but, he already posted in this forum about this very thing. Maybe try a search.

A little herlp.........
I have the 2210 Hooker SC LT headers, but I don't have the oil cooler, they are worthless in my mind. They can actually fail and mix oil and water in the motor, bad design.
I feel the water lines may end up close to the headers and when you drop the oil filter it may spill oil on the header collector. May need to use short filters too to clear collector.
My collector is wrapped with heat warp, so I need to guard against oil spilling on the collector.
That's all I can think of......
