Will a 4th gen catback fit a thirdgen?
ive been seeing really low mileage catbacks of new Z-28s and Trans Ams for dirt cheap, and i got to wondering if one of thse would fit a thirdgen. Would it work? Do a lot of modifications need to be made? TIA

From the city that orginated it all...... are thirdgen's big over there?
No, the intermediate pipe is different. However, I would imagine that they can be modified to fit without a problem. Better get someone to verify that before you purchase though. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. Actually, about 2 minutes after i posted that, I did a search, and more than a few people have used a 4th gen catback. Im not running a cat, and as long as the I-pipe is 3", it shouldnt be too hard to fab something up to fit.
And to answer your question, thirdgens are not especially popular in Detroit. Seems like all the guys that were around in the 60's are big into the original Detroit iron, and all the guys my age(early 20's) are into Mustangs and ricers.
