EGR disabled
EGR disabled
Previous owner of my '83Z removed the diphragm from the EGR valve - just the rod is left sticking out. Replacing it would be problematic because I don't think there's enough clearance between where it sits on the manifold and the edelbrock performer carb I put on. Any opinions on this one? Should I make sure it's stuck closed (i.e. rod down)or replace and deal with the possible fit problems with the carb?
either replace it if you want or just get a block off plate instead. if it is closed and your car runs ok with out it then dont worry about it, however i was told by one mechanic that he has seen some cars with the egr blocked off burn holes in pistons. my two cents
