Anyone tried this?

what would a 89 firebird formula w/L03 & open element and a stock cat sound like if I took of the muffler and rigged up some tailpipes for it to exit out. would that sound too loud or bada$$?

Open exhaust does not sound good at all. I have a cutout and its way too loud.

I dont know, I removed my exhaust to replace the fuel pump, and ran the engine with nothing after the cat. I thought it sounded pretty good. Rumbled real nice. But, I think the local constabulary would have taken issue with me if I tried to drive it like that.....

One of the muffler shops in town removes the mufflers from full size trucks, and bends up a dual exit tail pipe with no muffler. they are a little louder, but sound really good.
