How hard is it to install SLP headers

I am currently in the process of swapping an engine into my 89 iroc. The new engine is still on the stand. Would it be hard to install the slp headers on a totally stock exhaust sytem? I am hoping I can do it myself in my driveway. Are there any nasty suprises that I should expect? Would it be better to wait till the engine is on the mounts? Thanks for any info,
Mike

I would install the headers before you drop the motor in, it will make life easier. It is still not that hard to install with the motor installed, it's just that you would probably have to loosen the mount anyway for the driver's side (if I remember correctly). I would do it will the motor is out...

Install the passenger side header and the spark plugs, then as you're lowering the engine into the car, drop the driver's side header in. When the engine is in, then bolt up the driver's side header and install the spark plugs. Thats the way I've done it twice now and it seems pretty easy.

If your lucky you won't have to dent the tube that RUBS against the steering shaft like i did, on my brand new headers!!! Lucky now i got Hooker S/C long tubes
