Probably an easy question, but..
Okay, I'm looking to get a new exhaust system for my car and I saw this kit on Summit.com. It sounds nice, but will this make my car any faster or will it just sound faster? Also, if anyone has this, how does it sound? I want a deep rumble at idle and then a louder rumble when I give it gas. Is it easy to install myself? Is this a good kit to buy or is there something better? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm new to exhaust systems.
The part number on Summit is BOR-14888 and my car is a 1992 Camaro RS with a 305 auto tranny, all stock. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

WOW!!!! The Borla system? That's a lot of money. I would think you would need some serious mods to need that system. Borla is like the Cadillac of exhaust systems. You can't find any better. And yes, it will sound great. And it will increase flow, which will increase power. That thing even has the changeable plates for different flow rates and a different sound. If serious mods are in your future (and you have money left over to buy other stuff
) then get the Borla. Best in my book.

Serious mods aren't really in my future though until I get my new front end in the spring. I just want a new exhaust system. I wanted one that sounds good and adds some power and this does both. What would serious mods include? Headers? Cam? Eventually I would like to do that stuff, but not for a while.

I have the borla on my car, and yes it looks great, sounds great, and you will see an increase in power. You may want to experiment with the plates, and see which one you like best. You can even make some custom ones if need be. Its a 15 minute job.
If you are going to do serious mods(internal engine), you want to have good exhaust to support it. Headers, a high flow cat, and good cat back are a good start.

Eventually I'll probably get headers or some other mods, but not for a while. A rather weak engine with this exhaust won't mess something up, will it? Thanks for the help guys.
