Two new Catco cats

I had two new Catco cats installed on my car this week in place of the stock cats. The car is louder and it seems to vibrate more is this normal? Even when I just turn the key before the car actually fires up it seems different. All the welding looks perfect and this shop is known for their good exhaust work. Thanks for any info.

Mine got louder with the cat too. Yes, that is normal, you are hearing more of the exhaust note because you don't have a blockage in there like you did with your old cat, so the new one flows better and is louder. Mine doesn't shake though, are you sure there isn't anything touching part of the frame or something?

I agree also...I installed a new 3" a few days ago and definatly got alot more RUMBLE! out of it...

I think that I would check the vibration tho...on start up. Sounds like some support issues with the new sizable space it takes.

I installed a Catco 3" in & out about 3 months ago and the heat shield already came loose and I had to reweld it. Other than that it does increase exhaust tone and flow. When I removed the heat shield from it you would really be surprised that you will pass emissions with it there really isn't much to it most of it's size is the heat shield.

Thanks for the info guys. My car came stock with dual cats 2 1/4 inlet and outlet these are 2 1/2 but the cat size is still the same.I will have to do some more checking under car to see if I see anything wrong or hitting. Taking car Thursday to get smogged hope it passes.
