need to see if anyone has done this yet
Ok here it goes....
ive seen this done on many mustangs but not any camaros down here.....I'm talking about where they have the flowmaster muffler all the way up towards the front of the car with no exhaust following....it sounds great and i want to do that.i was wondering if a flowmaster muffler would fit where my "cat" once was.has anybody done anything remotely like this?how does it sound?i want my car as loud as possible.if anyone has done this please let me know exactly how you did it...thanks

i havent done it, but it might work. The muffler will be really low to the ground though, but i can't think of a reason why it wont work if u can get it to fit nicely.

You'd have to get a small flowmaster and cat... If your going to keep it... Do you have emissions??? If you want it loud just run open headers into a straight pipe and bend it the way you want....
I ran into problems where Federal gov will not let your car run without a cat.. Street wise anyway... But i have no emissions,,, So I didnt need a muffler...
Take a look where you want to put the muffler... see if you think there is room and find out what fits...
sorry if i didnt help.. never seen what your talking about

if no emissions worries....run the hooker super comp full length headers into collectors. Add about 4 inches of 3" pipe on both sides and put a 1 chamber flowmaster on each side. After the muffler run a turndown. thats it! A friend of mine has that setup on his 95 z-28. If you examine the undercarriage of your car, you can see where a short muffler like a 1-chamber would fit. Wont have a ton of ground clearance, but will be VERY loud, and if you have a high HP motor will perform a heck of a lot better than crap stock exhaust routing.
