hookerheaders cat-back

Question,
Im buying a cat-back, I looked around and I like the one from hookerheaders, it features there aerio chamber muffler. Im buying this soon, and just wanted a few suggestions. Im gonna buy it from jegs, its only like 250, is this a good deal, is hookerheaders cat-back as good as people have been saying? I just bought my car and didnt know but it had a flowmaster muffler already, just found that out. but it has stock pipes and I wanna add HP will this hookercat back give me what im yurning for or will it just waste my money, thanks for the feed back..

I just recently installed the aerochamber hooker setup you've talked about and the results are A+...extra power in the powerband. Great sound as well. 3" cat-back...the only sugestion that I have is to get a catco 3" converter. It made my setup a total success!

Im getting the 2.5 hooker cat-back thats what they recomended, I dont know about the 3 inch, my friend told me that I dont need and it wouldnt create enough back pressure, also im getting headers from the same company I hope this really makes my car sound bad, I want it to be as loud as possible, I think i have dual cats but im not sure and the muffler place said they wont touch them unless they are damaged, and since I have no clue where they are I dont know how to damage them, im prolly gonna get a highflow 2.5 inch cat to make my machine just totaly bad *** any other suggestions would be great

I've got a 3inch catback and it sounds and performs great. It also looks bad*ss on top of that. I don't think a single 3" pipe is too much, even for my car. If you plan on upgrading your engine, you might as well just spend the extra $50 on the 3" so you don't feel you need to get a bigger pipe later on...

I dont know if I want to upgrade the engine anymore than bolt on's right now, I mean its my baby and I love it, but boring it out and adding new cams and shafts would be incredibly expensive and I would have to contract it out since I have no automotive skills. So pretty much my car will remain stock other than my edlebrock intake manifold and my soon to be cat-back and headers and dynomax converter. I would love the feed back from you guys on the 2.5 inch vs 3 inch problem, some people tell me 3 is to much that my engine doesnt need it, and other people say that I should go for it... any help would be appreciated

Go for the 3". My exhaust was one of my first mods to my car. It looks great, feels great, and sounds great. 2.5" is basically stock, you'll feel alot more power with the 3".

GO FOR THE 3". i have it and it is great. quiet at idle and nice roar up top. however THE CHROME PLATING ON THE TIPS SUCK!!!! you might want to get new tips when you have it installed. The chrome plating doesn't get between the tips and will rust in a month. Also only after a week, the inside of my tips rusted. since the tips are 3" and there are 4 of them, it really is an eye sore. So now I have to get some stainless ones from Borla. Has anyone else had this problem?

I don't have rust yet but I do have discoloration inside the pipes and the space between the pipes does not seem to have plated well either.

I ordered the 3" hooker aero chamber cat-back exactly a month ago today from jegs and its still on back-order. I'm thinking of cancelling it and having my friend weld me true duals (did I dare say that? heh)

Are you serious!!!! I just cancled my order from carpartsonsale.com and called jegs and they said the item was in stock so I ordered it, I would be extremely pissed if that was a lie, oh you have NO idea how mad I would be, hopefully they did get it in stock and hopefully it will be shipped SOON...

If you want to change to a single cat setup, you probably just need to get a new y-pipe, but for just alittle over 300 bucks you could get edlebrock TES headers which comes with a Y-pipe that slips right onto a 3" inch cat

I dont know, I have the money and hooker is more expensive, but its more expensive for a reason, I just heard that they are the best for the money, and everyone said on this bored that hooker makes some good headers, plus I trust them cause my cat-back is so kick *** , I have many edelbrock components but I think I will stick with holley for my headers, I dont have to change my y-pipe Ill just take off my dual cats, the headers come with its own y-pipe and ill just slip the single cat onto that and then hook it up to my cat-back, shouldnt be to hard.. I hope

i see your gonna get a Dynomax converter, i was going to get one too until i was told that i should get a Catco one. About 90 percent of the people on the board have catco coverters and they love them also they arn't as expensive as the Dynomax.

I have been debating this myself, jegs sell dynomax converters for like 89 dollers to me thats not to expensive, but the money isnt the issue for me, its what will give me the best air flow, most of the people might use the catco but they might use it because its cheap and flows pretty well, but if the dynomax are a little more money and flow better I would rather get that, im looking for the best performance, not the cheapest.. so do you guys still think I should get catco? or is dynomax the best?

if the price is not important then go to the Next Generation website (sells third and fourth gen parts) and buy Random Technology's HI FLOW 3" cat for like 200 bucks, its pretty expensive but if your looking for power this might be the best option.

I'm trying to install my 3" as we speak. I have two problems though. First, will the intermediate pipe simply slide out if I have it on jacks? Or do I have to cut it? Second, the hanger that the intermediate pipe rests on just forward of the muffler doesn't seem like it will fit Hooker's hanger attachment. The stock exhaust just slides into the hanger. The Hooker exhaust is supposed to bolt on. I don't want to have to take it in!!! I want to do it!!
