With the mods I have I am somewhat satisfied with the way my car drives but the only 2 things left that I really would justify changing before just building a new motor would be headers and a cam.
My question is how much do all you experts think I could pick up from a set of heddman 1-5/8 long tubes into race mufflers.
My current setup is a tpi 305 MAF. I have ramair, no Maf screens, an airfoil, ported plenum, mildly ported intake base, heads are stock with mild porting along with 1.94 intake valves. I know most of you frown on them but I do have the hypertech chip, 160 stat and fan switch. I also have an accel 300+ ignition and coil.
as it stands now I also have the ac delete pulley and no smog stuff but I still have the stock manifolds. Hollow cat with a 3 in interm. pipe to a dynomax cross flow to 2.5 tails.
Right now if I had to guess I would say I am around 240 HP, but with a cam and the exhaust and maybe a little more porting I would like to push 300.
so what do ya think is it possible>??

I would say about 20 hp. Maybe a little more. TBI guys get about 20-30 hp so I would say you ar ein that range if not higher because you have TPI. You will deffinately feel the diff so I say go for it before you do any other mods. If you decide on cam and heads it is a no brainer to have headers first.

 

thats what I figured. I cant wait to do it though because I will just stick some race mufflers onto the collectors and sell my dynomax system and manifolds. I figure I will save 30-50 lbs as well as pick up the HP.
