Hey I got a 86 2.8 camaro and dropped a 3.4 from a 95 and it runs fine. But the muffler on the car is rusted out and just crap. the pipes comming from the engine are fine but i think the cat is makeing a noise like somethings broken inside. The question is what should I do to this V6 to make it better. would it be worth it to use the same pipes and just different muffler or change everything?? what kind. and I was wantting to do it myself and have no clue what it would cost. anyone who can give me ideas would be great..

Get a high-flow version of a cat for your car. Catco, Walker, Dynomax, etc. Most everything aftermarket made these days is high flow.

Check out the Pacesetter cat-back from JC Whitney. It's not exactly the cat's meow for V8 cars, but will be fine for a V6. Pretty hard to beat the price, and you should be able to install it all yourself. The hardest part will be removing your old system, but a Sawsall is pretty helpful there.
